Can any type benefits be drawn while waiting 12-24 months for a SSD hearing to be set up? I have been out of work for 2 years.

First you should appeal any denial from SS within the 60 days allowed. Second, in California , you may be entitled to State Disability during this waiting period depending on your quarters where you were paid wages and your witheld state taxes. Third, In California you may be entitled to workers compensation if your disability was due to a work injury.
