Jonathan Paul Musgrove

Jonathan is in private practice representing small to mid-sized businesses and individuals in a wide range of legal matters. He focused the first eight years of his practice in civil litigation, successfully representing doctors, nurses and health care facilities in medical malpractice actions. In 2007, his practice expanded to include a growing client need for corporate and transactional representation, estate planning and general asset protection planning. Before starting his own practice, Jonathan managed several legal departments with his prior law firms in the areas of Asset Protection, Bankruptcy, Corporate, Estate Planning and Litigation. Over the years, Jonathan has represented clients in the areas of general civil litigation, business litigation, medical malpractice, employment and labor law, personal injury, business planning and transactions, contracts, dispute resolution, bankruptcies, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial and residential landlord/tenant disputes, estate planning and wills and trusts contests. His range of experience allows for a comprehensive, planned approach whether it involves counselling a client in business planning, mediating disputes, representation in litigation or other adversarial proceedings. Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from San Diego State University. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, where he was also the Chapter President of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During law school, he interned at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the San Diego District Attorney’s Office where he received extensive training in the courtroom. He volunteered with the McGeorge legal aid services program where he assisted indigent clients in the community. He continues his legal education by regularly attending seminars and workshops, and is always willing to volunteer his time as a guest speaker. Jonathan is a member of the State Bar of California and an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association. He maintains membership in the Estate Planning and Trust & Probate Law section, and the Business Law section of the County Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California. Jonathan is active with several business networking groups throughout the community and on the Board of Directors of the Poway Chamber of Commerce. Jonathan enjoys life with his wife and three children, outdoor activities and coaching youth sports teams.
