In WA is it possible for a defense lawyer to switch to plaintiff's lawyer on the same case

Asked by a user in Washington - almost 4 years ago.

This is a rather general question with insufficient facts, but generally as a rule an attorney cannot switch parties in a case. That would result in adverse representaiton, which I do not believe any state would permit. There are situations where the parties, after informed consent, can sign waivers to permit such a switch, but I cannot not imagine how anyone could do such a move.
