Second, you can notify your Virginia state bar association of the conduct. They will investigate the lawyer, including taking your statement. Assuming Arizona follows the general principals of law found in many other jurisdictions what you have described is a mistake. You don't own it and they have to pay to get it back. I suggest you call them. My guess is they will surprise you witha gift. Then you can do your target practicing with a clean conscience!
