Winston Kevin McKesson

Back in 2006 I was charged for, first degree murder, second degree murder, and voluntary manslaughter. Winston Mckesson was my attorney on this case. In 2009 my trial was in action. I had a 5 months trial do to these charges. When the jury went in for deliberations of 5 days. They came back with a ...hung jury. It took 2 weeks for the DA to refile on my case. This time the DA brought up first degree murder and second degree murder. 3 years later in February 2012 trial was on the way. A 5 month trial again. Winston Mckesson, shown the lies of the cops, DNA evidence showed that I was stabbed and that I took a life in self defense. But the DA was able to bring back mansaulter. So, yes I did have to serve time. Winston Mckesson, closing arguments was outstanding. I truly feel that Winston Mckesson did a great job. If not the system po c the DA would have given me life. Winston Mckesson, was also able to take a capital case off the table. One thing we all must know, the DA ane cops, plus the DA's will do anything to get a conviction. My brother had a very difficult and complicated case that involved him having two trials back to back within a few days of each other. The charges were very serious, in fact my brother was facing 25 years to life in prison if convicted. This case was a criminal/murder/mental insanity case all bottl...ed into one. Mr. McKesson did not sugar coat what we were facing in this case. Although my brother was very much INsane at the time of the crime, getting a jury to believe and understand it was a dauting task especially with so many criminals using mental illness as a defense these days which has created skepticism among many in society, and rightfully so, but Mr. Kesson was honest with us, and he walked us through this case every step of the way. He never suggested that we lie about the facts, and he always took the time to answer our phone calls and to explain to us what was going on. My brother in his first trial, as predicted got the 25 years to life, but in the that second trial he was found not guilty by reason of insanity which means he is to seek therapy and counseling for his illness, but he will not have a criminal record at all, and he was found innocent of all charges. McKesson was able to prove that although this crime that was committed was awful and very sad for the family and the community involved, my brother was still insane at the time that the crime happened, and our family have Mr. McKesson to thank for being able to prove that the man who committed that crime before receiving mental help is not the same man today. He was able to show the jury and everyone in that court room what kind of man my brother was before becoming mentally ill. He was able to show my brother as a successful man who had a career even at the young age of 22 years old in the medical field where he had no prior criminal record. He even had my brother to testify on the stand in his own defense which many lawyers do not like to do, but McKesson prepared him for this task, and my brother was told to be honest and to simply tell his story, and he did. The jury was able to make their decision based on the evidence that McKesson had presented which was thorough and comprehensive, so my advice to anyone seeking a lawyer to handle a life or death situation, and anything in between, is to simply let you know that Winston Kevin McKesson is your man.
