Don Erik Franzen

Don Franzen is an attorney in Beverly Hills who specializes in entertainment, real estate, business law and civil litigation. He is a founding partner at Funsten & Franzen, a law practice in Beverly Hills, and counts among his clients leading figures in the entertainment, music, and recording industries, as his legal practice covers the spectrum of the entertainment industry, including recording contracts, television agreements, film contracts, concert agreements, endorsements, corporate work, tax, and visa issues. He earned his degree from USC in 1975 and has been practicing for over 40 years. In addition, he has been involved in the creation of the Los Angeles Opera and has served on its board of directors since 1986. He has lectured on entertainment law for Eastman School of Music, the Santa Monica Academy of Entertainment and Technology, the Colburn School of Music, the Berklee School of Music (Valencia, Spain) and is an adjunct professor teaching law and business practice in the music industry at UCLA. He has also authored various articles and book reviews on legal topics. He is a fellow at USC Institute for the Humanities and the legal affairs editor for the Los Angeles Review of Books.
