    Jurors awarded a dockworker $1.2 million in damages for on- the-job harassment resulting from her promotion at a marine terminal in the Port of Long Beach. Ms. McCoy, a 47-year-old marine clerk who has worked at Southern California ports since 1988, was awarded the sum following a two-week trial in Los Angeles Superior Court. It was McCoy's second successful lawsuit against her employer, the Pacific Maritime Association, an organization representing most major marine terminals at West Coast seaports. The first case, filed by McCoy because of her inability to get a promotion, resulted in an agreement that called for her to at least receive training for a higher-classification job. The new case centered on her treatment when she began that training.
