Douglas John Pahl

I completed my undergraduate studies at Duke University in 1975, receiving an AB Degree with distinction in economics. Following Duke University, I attended Southern Methodist School of Law and received a Juris Doctor degree in 1978.  Since graduating SMU Law School, I joined the Law Offices of Kern & Wooley, LLP and became a partner in 1985. I am currently Of Counsel with Tressler, LLP.

          I have a broad-base of litigation experience, including trials, mediations and arbitrations, in Federal and State Courts in multiple jurisdictions. While my primary area of experience has been aviation and aviation related products liability, I also have experience with insurance coverage and disputes for both first-party and third-party claims. I have handled bad faith claims and other insurance and contractual disputes. Other litigation experience includes personal injury and wrongful death, environmental and toxic exposure, employment and wrongful termination, unfair business practices and misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary information.

          I was admitted to the California Bar in 1978. I am a member of the United States Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and all United States District Courts in the state of California. I am a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, American Bar Association, Aviation Insurance Association. I have an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and have been a settlement conference referee for the Los Angeles County settlement program. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross of Santa Monica.
