Mallabo v. Wan Hai Lines

John Cornell Taylor

Case Conclusion Date: April 20, 2007

Practice Area: Motorcycle Accident

Outcome: $18.6 million verdict for the injured motorcyclist

Description: Motorcyclist seriously injured when another vehicle turned in front of him. The other vehicle was owned by a company. The company's president allowed his wife to drive the company-owned vehicle despite knowing she had failed the California motor vehicle driving test a few days before the accident. The jury held the company liable for negligently entrusting the vehicle to a dangerous driver. This is one of the largest verdicts ever obtained for a motorcyclist in California.
