Mr. Swiger is a general commercial and intellectual property litigator. His intellectual property experience includes litigating patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret matters both for plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Swiger’s general commercial litigation experience includes litigating business contract disputes, corporate fraud and alter ego actions, as well as commercial unlawful detainer actions for both commercial landlord and tenants. In addition to commercial landlord tenant disputes Mr. Swiger has successfully defended tenants whom were facing wrongful eviction in violation of the Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance.
Mr. Swiger received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2004. He graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business where he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 2001. Mr. Swiger’s special expertise in finance and accounting is particularly useful in damages analysis in intellectual property matters.
Prior to joining Kneafsey & Friend, LLP, Mr. Swiger was an associate at Marrone Robinson Frederick & Foster A.P.C., a Burbank, California law firm representing insurance companies and various corporations in defense of personal injury and property damage claims. While an associate at Marrone Robinson, Mr. Swiger successfully represented corporations such as Sony Pictures Studios, Columbia Pictures, and Safeway in obtaining dismissals of multiple actions filed against them.
