  • Settlement conference - what documents needs to be submitted?

Could any one clarify what is Order Scheduling Settlement Conference? Anybody have experience with SC? Does Judge need any letters from us? any forms? Will Judge tell his verdict or opinion who will win if the matter will go to trial? or it will ...

    Howard’s Answer

A scheduling order tells you what to do and when to do it. Generally, settlement judges require a mediation brief. Forms are generally available form the court involved in the case is court annexed. Settlement conferences are mediations, there is no verdict or judgment at the conclusion of the process. If the matter does not settle at the hearing it will likely then go to trial.

    Howard’s Answer

You can find a consumer attorney on AVVO or through your local bar association. Tampering with an odometer is a violation of federal law and is a bit of a legal specialty. Consumer fraud statutes under state law may apply in addition to state law. Hire some one who knows what they are doing, good luck.
