About Me

"There must be a better way!" Not an original thought, perhaps; but a sound opinion based on Terry's 26 years of litigation experience.

His trial experience, his personal divorce over 22 years ago, over 20 years of helping clients deal with alcohol, substance abuse and domestic violence issues, and numerous appointments representing children in custody disputes have convinced Terry that most conflicts--especially in family law--are better handled outside the courtroom with the help of trained and sensitive mediators.

Terry Mead is no slouch in court. Named a Southwest Super Lawyer in the area of general civil litigation, Terry also has earned the profession's top national Peer Review Rating and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. His experience ranges from defamation, copyright and trademark litigation to divorce and custody hearings. The slogan for his law firm is "We give attorneys a good name."

Terry earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay and both law and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. In 2006, he underwent intensive mediation training with Alhadeff & Forbes Mediation Services of Seattle, Washington. He belongs to the Association for Conflict Resolution (including its Arizona chapter) and the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators. He and his wife, Amy, founded the Arizona Center for Conflict Resolution & Education in 2007, promoting mediation and Do-It-Mostly-Yourself Divorce programs as alternatives to litigation.

Today, Terry is happily married, with two adult sons and a granddaughter. His favorite activities involve the outdoors--hiking and backpacking.

  • James R Harrison

The feedback I get is that Terry makes clients feel comfortable and opposing lawyers feel uncomfortable. He is knowledgeable in his field and is a dedicated professional. He manages pro bono work and communitiy service in spite of a demanding practice. I readily endorse Terry.

I endorse this lawyer.I was involved in a difficult probate case where certain family members were at a stalemate. Terry acted as the mediator and was able to facilitate a fair settlement that ended 12 months of fighting. I am pleased to endorse him.
