Consult with a DUI Defense attorney as soon as possible. There are many consequences of doing nothing. You need to request a Driver License Hearing within 10 days of your arrest. Consult with an attorney to walk you through all the steps. Many people think because they are innocent, they don't have to defend themselves. Innocent people get convicted everyday.

The first hearing is mainly for you tell the judge you are going to hire an attorney, request an appointed attorney, or waive your right to an attorney. If possible, hire your own attorney. If you cannot, request an appointed attorney. Never waive your right to an attorney. Normally, they will not take you into custody, if they haven't already done so unless there are extenuating circumstances.
