I had three separate drug charges in two separate counties and looking at slot of time. He ended up getting me four years when everyone else told me twelve to twenty four. I owe him my life. If you want someone who has amazing court presence. And recommend him to all
I retained mr bernhardt for a custody case, which he failed horribly to represent. he failed to respond to the courts, to myself, and to opposing council throughout the entire case. in addition, due to his poor job, this went for over two years for a parenting time change. the original case was delayed over and over due to his negligence in responding to anything from the courts in a timely matter. over the course of this case, my ex-spouse also filled a child support modification, which of course mr bernhardt did not even respond to, show up the hearing, or even notify myself. i was informed of a garnishment from my ex. over the next three to four months, mr bernhardt constantly would tell me that he was working on it, and that the extra 1500 a month i was being garnished would be reimbursed when we finally went into court. child support was not even raised, and he was admonished by the court again for his lack of action in providing any required forms and paperwork. after that worthless hearing, i immedialty hired new counsel.my new attorney promtly informed me that due to mr bernhardt not responding, and also not filing any paperwork, my appeal hopes were over. due to his actions, my ex was given 20k that she should not have recieved, and that i am unable to rectify. we also filed a grievance with the office of attorney regulation, and his license to practice law was (and currently is) suspended.
I retained Robert Bernhardt for a DUI charge that I received late last year. His communication is very poor both from his office and him personally. I was never communicated to about where my case stood or what his plan was. He incorrectly informed me of paperwork processes that cost me an extra month of driving privileges. I was offered a plea bargain from the DA that he never informed me of. When I first addressed my concerns about these things he became very aggressive. He appeared at two hearings on my behalf which amounted to less than an hour total. After deciding to go with another attorney and informing him that I would do so, he told me my retainer had expired.
