    Defamation law suits arising from postings on social media, Facebook, Twitter and the like, are a real risk that I counsel business owners about. The number of people who see a post isn't relevant to the claim of defamation, but is relevant to damages that result from the defamation. While your friends are correct to warn you of the risk, the facts you've given wouldn't seem likely to give rise to a credible claim.
