There is not a requirement in Texas that insurance policy limits be disclosed prior to filing a law suit. I've generally found that insurance companies will disclose the policy limits information under limited circumstances, such as if a person has sustained catastrophic injuries and the insured only carries the minimum amount of liability insurance required by law.
