Assuming you are not a mandatory reporter, you do not have any specific time frame when you are required to report. The criminal statutes apply if the person is going to be prosecuted criminally. If abuse has occurred, the first agency to call is CPS. That agency will make the determination as to whether it is too "late" to investigate.

There are some ways to address these types of issues without going back to court. First, you could take the children to a therapist and have that therapist send a letter or have a conference with the dad.
