Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict and judgment paid.
Description: Karen was driving west on I30 through Rockwall, TX on her way to work at Lockheed Martin. As she drove, a large cable wire fell across the highway and stopped Karen's truck dead in the middle of the highway, wrapping her truck in wires. Karen tore her rotator cuff in her left shoulder due to the impact and had surgery to repair the tear. Karen's medical bills totalled $35,000. Charter said lighting caused the cable to come down so they were not responsible. The Rockwall jury found otherwise and compensated Karen $114,000.
