Does Texas DPS automatically mail accident reports?

Most times, they will not send a police report unless you request it. They should have given you a report number or an incident number so that you can order it. If not, you can call with the date and names of the people involved, and they can find it for you. When you call, they will give you the report number and then you will have to request it in writing or go pick it up and pay a small fee for the report.

What do I need to do after being involved in a car accident in Texas

Steps first need to be taken by a lawyer to ensure that the other driver's insurance is not responsible for the damages. The answer to that question is more complicated than the insurance company just saying that the driver was not on the policy. Then, your insurance company may be an additional source of recovery. What is the procedure for responding to a default judgment can I appeal

Your daughter-in-law needs to find an attorney to prevent the default judgment, or at a minimum, she needs to file an Answer immediately to delay the judgment. If a judgment is awarded, the judgment holder can take many steps to try to collect. And even if your daughter-in-law has no assets now, the judgment will be good for 10 years and can be renewed after that. It will accrue interest every year, and may even include attorney's fees.
