I met with 3 lawyers, including Mr.Reeves, and after careful consideration, decided to hire Mr. Reeves to handle my divorce, which was complicated with a custody fight. I am very pleased with the attention I was giving to my case and with the outcome. Mr. Reeves is trustworthy, knowledgeable and if for some reason he was not able to talk with me when I called his office, his friendly stuff updated me about what was going on in my case.
Roy Reeves performed below expectations in trial case of Ada Cuadros in July 2012. We trusted him and his associate Pamela Lakatos, we believed in them, we supported them and paid them well. We were beyond disappointed with their defense. To call it poor doesn't even come close, they were unprepared, disorganized and did Ms. Cuadros a terrible disservice. Now an innocent person is serving a life sentence because of them. The defense was so inefficient Reeves did not even address basic things like places and times of events. The defendant was not called to testify and the attorneys didn't even take the time to visit her in jail to prepare her. I frankly have never seen such a horrible performance. Reeves should stay with family law. Do not hire him for any criminal cases. He's ellusive and vague. I will forever regret hiring him.
Hired this lawyer for a custody fight. Told by others to just give up, bur Roy Reeves didn't give up. At least now, I get to see my daughter and have a relationship with her, I can call her twice a week, see her every other weekend, see her on holidays and summers. That is much more than I had before.
I wanted custody, but while others simply said it could not happen, or asked for ridiculously high retainers, this lawyer told me to be patient, take it in stages, get a relationship now and time with my daughter that I had not seen in 7 years because of my ex, force the ex to give visitation, and when the time is right, come back for custody.
He treated me right, did not overcharge me, and helped put this in perspective. I plan to use him again next time.
After the inital contract of 5000$ and he promises to do 3 things 1, copy you on everything he is doing so you know what is happening with your case!(never happened) 2.will bill you to let you know when you are under the 5000$ (never happened) 3 he would return phone calls
(that never happened) I had to literally come to the office and sit and wait till he was free to talk to him , sometimes hours! Could not get appointments because he never called back! Only after the complete loss of medical insurance coverage that my husband did during the divorce ( which was contempt ) I would now have cobra but Roy didn't do that either, nor the non payment of spouse support for 4 months which by my council told me to get money out of my IRA to live on and I had to pay tax and penaltyiesand that didn't need to happen either ,he never filed contempt charges there either for the non support! it would have saved my IRA Now that I have the files there are emails to opposing council that my own attorny made to my Puhl that Roy could not remember what he was to bring to court and when? Dates and where we were in this case? I had no idea how lost my own attorney was during the 2 years of hell!that were so unneccesary And he is here to do collections ? Ha!
