If I could summarize what I do in one sentence, I would say that my job is to help people achieve peace of mind knowing that they’ve planned for the future and their family will be taken care of if anything ever happens to them. Two of my grandparents suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. I’ve seen firsthand how the death or disability of a loved one can cause a family to self-destruct. That’s why I chose to dedicate my career to this field. As an estate planning attorney, I’m passionate about creating estate plans for my clients that:
(1) Promote family harmony and ensure that both personal and financial goals are realized; and
(2) Are affordable and understandable.
As an elder law attorney, I work with older adults and their families to minimize the risks of long-term care. In particular, I seek to protect clients’ assets while at the same time helping them qualify for Medicaid or other public assistance to defray the escalating cost of nursing homes. Finally, in the area of probate, I navigate clients through the court system and make certain that their loved one’s estate is dealt with effectively and as quickly as the law allows.
I believe that the practice of law is not just about performing legal services for my clients, but also about building relationships. I take pride in providing my clients with personal attention, promptly returning telephone calls and emails and clearly communicating every step of the way. I want my clients to be comfortable with the process. I try to accommodate my clients whenever possible, meeting with them in their homes, offices or other convenient locations and scheduling appointments during evening and weekend hours. Drawing on my personal background as well as my legal experience, I explain in laymen’s terms — not lawyer jargon — the available options and my recommendations based on each client’s unique circumstances. In so doing, I sincerely hope to earn my clients’ friendship in addition to their professional respect.

I know Tyler and his wife from church and have always considered him a truly good person. After talking to him briefly about our situation, he was most generous and willing to proceed to assist us. Everyone always thinks their situation is a little different than others, as did I, but he was well-ver...

We hired Tyler to restate our trust that we had put in place several years ago. He was very professional and personable. We felt comfortable asking him questions and he gave us answers in a way that we could understand. His knowledge made us feel secure in hiring him for our restatement. He took ca...

One of my brothers, who lived in the Norman area, passed away in 2015. We, another brother and I, were referred to Mr. Barrett, and stopped in to his office without an appointment. He was able to meet with us and despite not having time to prepare for us, was gracious enough to discuss how we could...

Mr. Barrett was very helpful during a difficult time in our lives. We were not expecting to have to do a probate but he helped us in a very competent and kind manner. He also helped me with establishing a Will for my children and gave me options to choose from that would benefit my family. I wo...

My father was a resident of Oklahoma and passed away leaving me as executor of his estate. His estate was required to go through the probate courts and I am not a resident of Oklahoma. While doing a search of probate attorney's in Oklahoma City, I found a listing for Mr. Barrett and contacted him....
"Tyler is an exceptionally devoted and astute attorney. He and I have consulted on several matters and I recommend him without hesitation!"
"I found Tyler Barrett online to assist in an ancillary probate. My client and I could not have been happier with our discovery. Tyler was attentive to our case from start to finish, adding both a professional and personal touch to his outstanding service. The matter moved quickly and efficiently and the end result was favorable to my client. I am happy to endorse Tyler...he is a true professional and I look forward to working with him again."
"Sometimes life throws a curve ball to one of your clients that you just don't know how to deal with. When that happens, a trustworthy lawyer that specializes in that particular area of law is a godsend. Tyler is an asset to all the lawyers in his local area because he has a vast knowledge of probate law and experience that so many of us lack. If you're looking for an attorney that will give you a "no kidding" look at the strengths and weaknesses of your case and give you the best advice possible, then look no further than Tyler Barrett."
"I've known Tyler for almost 20 years and graduated law school with him. I can tell you first hand that he works hard, has great integrity and will always get the best possible results he can for his clients. I absolutely recommend and endorse him."
