    very disappointed

I hired Brett for a uncontested divorce, which ended in default on her side, that I know he did not get the correct papers signed by her and charged me $ 750 dollars which I did not get an itemized bill for. Then I paid Brett $1000 to cover me when my ex-wife wanted to nullify the divorce. She did not file just sent threatening letter to him. Bretts secretary calls me on friday to tell me my ex wife sent threatening letter but would not tell me any info til i met with Brett seven days later. After i meet with him i switch attorney and he sends me a padded statement saying he when through $1000 in two days doing absolutely nothing. I will be filing a complaint with the louisiana bar association.

I made the right choice when I hired Brett.

My husband and I divorced after 21 years of marriage, I have never been divorced before and I had no idea on what to expect but Brett and his staff helped me through it. I had met with a few other attorneys before I hired Brett, he really made me feel like everything would work out and it did not have to be a battle. And he is the only attorney that I've even known to played K-Love in lobby which I took as a sign that God was with me. I feel like that said a lot for what this firm believes.

    Very Disappointed

My ex-wife and I contacted Mr. Duncan for our divorce because we knew his dad. We were asked to leave him a $1000 retainer. My ex and I had already agreed on our property settlement. We had one question as part of our settlement. We wanted to transfer my IRA's to her retirement without either of us having to pay taxes immediately. Mr.D "consulted" with a CPA for .40 and and spent 1.00 "researching" our question himself and said we couldn't. It took me 5 minutes to go on the IRS website to see that we could. We went to another attorney who verified our interpretation. Ironically with the divorce and misinformation Mr D found a way to charge exactly $1000. The second attorney required no deposit but charged a fair fee at the conclusion of the legal work. I phoned Mr D to discuss his work and fees and spoke to his secretary. She promised to have Mr. D return my call. Still waiting. The other attorney cost more per hr but I guess it's the perfect example that "you get what you pay for".
