Mary Kay and her husband Dave both grew up in Nebraska. They moved away from the heartland to pursue educational and employment opportunities and returned to Nebraska when Dave joined the psychology department at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.  Their children attend UNL.  Matt is a law student and Marie is working on her Masters in English.
