Carla J. Ehlers

I currently used Carla Ehlers as my Divorce Attorney and have over all been "very happy" with her service as being my Attorney. She is "always" very nice and caring. She has handled my case well and always has worked hard to get things done and handled "fairly". I moved to Illinois ( with my then hu...sband) not knowing a soul here from Maryland. I was having some "issues" with my now Ex husband and his mother, before I knew it I was served divorce papers very unexpectedly. I went straight to Carla Ehlers law office and since then, it's been the best decidion I made retaining her. I have not had "any" regrets on my decidion on retaining her as my attorney. I to have had to make payment arrangments with her to "finish" paying for her excellent services she provided for me. This woman is a "wonderful person" and in my opinion, "excellent attorney". She has always kept me well informed of anything and everything important going on with my case and has ALWAYS returned my phone calls promptly. Her office staff are also very friendly and wonderful as well. I would suggest or recommend her to anyone I knew going through the same situation I am. Carla Ehlers is a very good attorney, best one I've had.

I retained Carla Ehlers for my divorce case. I had no money at the time (was unemployed), and she was willing to take payments, which was great. Within two months I had a job and was able to start making payments to her. I requested a discovery request be made, and was told we would receive thi...s fairly damning documentation before the court case. Had we had this, we would've had quite a few smoking guns. I asked twice about it, and was told that it would be there before court. Lo and behold, it came time for the divorce proceedings. I visited with Carla in a room inside the courthouse, where I was told she didn't obtain the discovery, as it would've taken too much time. I was also told that we couldn't perform Electronic Discovery (e-discovery) on my ex's facebook, myspace, etc. The case wasn't lost, but it wasn't won. I now have joint custody, and am the residential parent, but am still very dissatisfied with the service provided to me, especially at the outrageous attorney fees charged. (To be fair, she does price lower than most in this area) All in all, I'm glad she was able to make payment arrangements with me. This helped me tremendously. Looking back however, I should've waited until I had the funding to obtain a different attorney. I would recommend you do the same, if the option is available to you.
