Ruling on motions for summary judgment has been postponed. How long can the judge take to make decision?

I generally agree with the other two answers. The judges do get statistics on this type of issue and they care about their statistics and, in my experience, they care about ruling promptly. The federal judges have to put a priority on criminal cases becasue their is a statutory right to a speedy trial that has specific limits. This may have an effect on a particular judge's work load.
