Fired from job: Successful litigation possible?

Asked by a user in Chicago, IL - about 1 month ago.

Hard to say based on what you put down. other than the soft handshake which may be a code word for "gay" and thus perhaps a sexual orientation discrimination case, if they don't think he had a sense of urgency they can fire him. He should consult with an employment lawyer in Chicago.

Asked by a user in Bloomington, IL - about 1 month ago.

The insurance company isn't going to offer more without an attorney and your 5-pages may just sink your case. You know what they say about those who become their own attorneys.......

Can I pursue a libel/slander claim against co-worker that wrote letter to management with several lies

Asked by a user in Crystal Lake, IL - over 3 years ago.

It would depend on what was said. I would need more information. There are two parts to slander, first that an untrue statement was made and then second that you suffered some measureable damage. If your work believes your version and has taken no action against you what is your damage?

How to protect savings before marriage?

Asked by a user in Hillside, IL - over 3 years ago.

Why not get a prenuptial? You can also keep the money in a separate bank account and never co-mingle the money but it can be challenged and then it would be up to a Judge to decide if the money was co-mingled or not. The prenuptial is the way to go.

Do I have an employment discrimination or hostile environment case?

Asked by a user in Elgin, IL - 2 months ago.

You should speak with an employment lawyer at once. You probably have at least a retaliation lawsuit if not a lawsuit based on other factors. My office handles these cases on a contingency fee basis. lasorsalaw.com
