At present I'm trying to undo the damage from Kate handling my real estate closing. I had (and still do) an encroachment issue which was not picked up by her. If she would've caught the issue at the closing, we could've forced the past owner to deal with it. She was employed by Shaw Law Ltd at the time. Mark Shaw has been a standup person for trying to correct the issue but it is still not resolved. Furthermore, she didn't advise me to pay the real estate transfer fee in advance and told me to pay double my mortgage payment for the first payment, which really did not have to be done. She is a nice person however there's much better for the same fees. All the parties involved with the transaction said my lawyer should've caught it as a result of the platt of survey done before the closing.
