Is this considered "contempt of court"?

Asked by a user in Bloomington, IL - 3 months ago.

it may be contempt and it may be visitation interference as set forth in the statute, 750 ilcs 5/607.1. what does the court order say? if it says 4 hours, then do a petition for indirect civil contempt and for visit interference. if there is not an order for 4 hours, you got snookered. get to a lawyer, now.

Can I file my own divorce if I have no way of serving my husband and have no idea where he is or where he could be found

Asked by a user in Chicago, IL - 6 days ago.

yes you can file it. then you must give him notice. if you truly do not know where he is, then search for him. on line, phone books, relatives, friends, jobs. then if you cannot find him, then do an affidavit for publication. get the judge's permission to publish notice.

My wife left me for another man and filed for divorce and took my son how can i get custody if she is not being a good mother

Asked by a user in Poplar Grove, IL - 9 days ago.

you should get a divorce lawyer now. file a petition for temporary and permanent custody. you put forward your background. tell your lawyer. there is a section in the statute dealing with visits for sex offenders. have your lawyer get it and apply it to the custody petition.

If we got back together after divorce, (just lived together for 4 months) does it void out the divorce settlement?

Asked by a user in Carmi, IL - about 1 month ago.

no, the divorce settlement is not void because you live together. it would be if you got remarried. go see your lawyer to file petitions to enforce the judgment.

How do I know if my spouse got already served but has not answer?

Asked by a user in Chicago, IL - about 1 month ago.

call the sheriff, civil process division, to ask. did you take the summons and petition to the sheriff to serve, did you pay the sheriff? if not, then it most likely was not served.

Can i request to change the terms of pre trial agreement?

Asked by a user in Chicago, IL - 3 days ago.

all of these questions and all of this information should be directed to the lawyer who is representing you in this case. if you have no lawyer, then perhaps you could request another pre trial conference. if you do not have a lawyer, get one.
