Jerrie Marlene Hayes

Ms. Hayes has litigated all variety of business and commercial cases (including disputes involving contracts, employment practices, products liability, shareholder and derivative suits, mergers & acquisitions, professional negligence, design and construction defects, landlord-tenant matters, mechanic and materialmen liens, trademark and copyright, licensing and franchising, corporate dissolutions, and business torts) as well as class action, complex and multidistrict litigation.

Ms. Hayes is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and has experience with both briefing and arguing appeals before state and federal courts throughout the country.

Ms. Hayes has advised employers--ranging from small businesses to multi-national corporations--on employment policies and workplace practices ranging from wage and hour issues (FLSA), medical leave and disability maters (FMLA, ADA), hiring and firing (INA, WARN, ADEA, USERRA), discrimination policies (Title VII, Title IX, Section 1983), non-compete and intellectual property rights concerns, workplace safety (OSH), privacy policies (HIPAA), and compensation and benefit issues (COBRA, ERISA).

Ms. Hayes has represented landowners, developers, natural resource harvesters, farmers and agricultural enterprises, and real estate principals in cases involving zoning, variance and permit applications, hearings and appeals, in preparing environmental impact statements, analyzing mitigation, and performing environmental clean ups, in public hearings before boards and government agencies, in matters surrounding mineral, oil and gas rights, and in property rights advocacy.
