Description: This matter involved post-judgment collection issues. In an effort to collect on a judgment, plaintiffs sought discovery and financial disclosures from defendants. When defendants failed to comply and also submitted misleading or false information, plaintiffs successfully brought motions to pierce the corporate veil, declare defendants frivolous litigants pursuant to Rule 7 of of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice, and for sanctions. The trial court agree, awarded sanctions and pierced the corporate veil. On appeal to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, the court affirmed the lower court's findings and decision.
