    You may qualify for a Dean Appointed Attorney...that being the circuit court can appoint you local counsel at a reduced rate. Consult you local clerk of court about this option.

    The responsibilities of a public defender is no different than any other attorney, that being a duty to keep the client informed of the status of their cases and to zealous representation. That being said, public defenders are good attorneys, often with large case loads, and do not always have disposable time to consistently meet with their clients. Unfortunately, its important to have a relationship with an attorney where your both communicating on the same page, and you don't get to choose...

    You will need to contact a qualified OWI attorney to review the facts of your case and determine the correct strategy. As was previously stated the minimum sentence if you are convicted of an OWI 2nd is 5 days jail, other factors including your BAC/BrAc will affect your jail exposure.     All of the above attorneys are right and you need to seek qualified counsel immediately. I dont know if the arrest happened in Winnebago county, but if it did, it is my experience that Winnebago courts have handled these types of cases inconsistently. I would not delay in this matter.

    When an individual on probation is suspected to have violated the conditions of probation, the agent may take the person into custody without a hearing. An individual can be taken into custody for simply violating a condition of probation. It does not require a violation of the law.
