Robert B. Taunt

Robert is the Personnel Director for La Crosse County, Wis.  He is the Chief Spokesperson and Labor Negotiator for collective bargaining with 8 bargaining units in 3 Unions covering approximately 800 employees.  He represents the County in Interest arbitration and mediation before WERC and private arbitrators.  Researches and writes arbitration briefs, prepares exhibits and witnesses, drafts contract language.  Responsible for organization and administration of County Union and Non-Union pay plans.  Responsible for procurement of bids and administration of all County employee benefits including self funded Health & Dental plans, Life and Disabiltiy insurance and other employee benefits. 

     Robert is the designated County Affirmative Action Officer.  He prepared and oversees the employee recruitment and selection process, and prepares and approves training programs for County employees.

     Robert has assisted Corporation Counsel and contracted outside counsel in preparation of legal defense of La Crosse County in arbitration, administrative hearings and at the Wisconsin Supeme Court.
