Excellent Attorney

Attorney Geyer represented me during my divorce and, most recently, helped me prepare my will. His long tenure practicing law is clearly evident after speaking with him. He guided me through every step of the process. He addressed any concerns I had very promptly and made any changes necessary to doc...uments right away. He was always available through the entire process. One of his greatest attributes was his ability to provide me with advice and guidance, but ultimately left it up to me to make a final decision. He would give honest, objective feedback on every decision. He showed great care and compassion through this difficult time in my life. I have recommended his services to friends. I would highly recommend Attorney Geyer to anyone who needs a knowledgeable, seasoned lawyer.

Not recommended

Difficult to work with. Very condescending toward his clients. Resists answering questions. Performed far too much unnecessary billed work. Excessive, unjustified billing. Numerous errors by him, his staff and his chosen "experts." I was totally dissatisfied with his performance. I would go to c...ourt without an attorney before I'd use him if I had it to do over.

We are sorry that this particular individual felt they had a bad experience with our firm. We always strive to deliver the best possible legal advice to achieve the most favorable outcome for all the clients that we serve. Client’s satisfaction is one of the utmost significant things for which we strive in handling every single case. I would more than welcome the opportunity to address any particular concern that this particular client may have and discuss the same in detail with them. Throughout my entire legal profession, I have attempted to exemplify the best in the qualities of what the public deserves in a lawyer: honesty, truthfulness, competency, and dedication to serve the best interest of my clients. Over several decades, I have been held in high regard by all of my clients; opposing counsel; and the judiciary before whom I appear. This is evident by the fact that I have, for the past 10+ years, been chosen by my peers and the judiciary to be within the top 5% of all practicing lawyers in the State of Wisconsin in family law and the highest marks for professional competency and ethical integrity. Regrettably, divorce is a highly volatile and emotionally gut wrenching time of one’s life. After a long-term marriage, not only do you stand to lose half of everything that you have worked so hard to accumulate financially in a marital estate, but may also have a continuing support obligation for an ex-spouse where there is a wide disparity in income levels. Good lawyers sometimes have to deliver “bad news” that clients sometimes are not receptive to hearing. However, it would be a disservice to a client to do anything otherwise. “False promises” do not serve ultimately the best interests of a client. I wish this former client nothing but the very best wherever the next chapter in their life takes them.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
