Is there another lawyer at the firm you originally contacted who can help you? If not, contact the State Bar of Wisconsin Lawyer Referral Service. They have a list of lawyers who practice employment law and are willing to provide you with a free consultation. If you talk to a lawyer, he/she can advise whether you should have a lawyer with you for the mediation. Good luck!

You need to contact a Labor and Employment or Discrimination lawyer in Virginia. There are very specific rules regarding termination and employment contracts. Whether the employees were unionized with also matter. Try to have any documentation you have about what benefits were promised handy when you call the lawyer.

  • Is this something that could be taken to court to be recovered or even a class action suit?

I have a 2011 Ford F150 with the new 3.5L twin turbo V6 engine. Since the truck had around 30K miles on it there has been a rattle from a cold start in the top of the engine. I have had many other issues as other owners of this engine have had a...

Is Ford refusing to fix your vehicle because it is at 87k miles instead of under 80k? If Ford has agreed to try and fix the problem it will be hard to put a class together because there might not be enough class members. Your best bet might be to just try and work with your local Ford dealer and see if they can get you included in the warranty because you brought it to their attention before you were at 87k miles. You could also try and contact a lawyer in your area who specializes in Lemon Law. There are often provisions that allow for the recovery of attorneys fees from the defendant, so it may not end up costing you anything. The Tennessee State Bar should have a list of lawyers who handle Lemon Law cases.

It sounds like you may have a workers compensation claim. If you haven't already, you should let your supervisor know what happened so s/he can complete an incident report. You should also try to figure out whether there is a security camera or surveillance of the area where this happened, and make sure the video gets saved. Unless you believe some third party was responsible for what happened, you will likely be limited to filing a workers comp claim.

Have you already had the dental work done? If you end up settling with the insurance company, make sure it takes into account ALL the expenses you have had or may have if you haven't had all the dental work done at this point. Once you settle the case, you won't be able to re-open it. You are likely entitled to several types of damages including past medical expenses, future medical expenses (the crown may not last forever), past pain suffering and disfigurement, future pain suffering and disfigurement, and past loss of earning capacity. You may also have out of pocket expenses for things not covered by insurance.

In Wisconsin the dog can be put down especially after multiple bites. The best thing to do is maintain communication with the local law enforcement office to be clear on the rules in your area.

    Jason’s Answer

You should have a local personal injury attorney take a look at the accident report. Remember that the police are not generally concerned about a potential civil case - they are looking at whether there were any criminal actions or moving violations. Just because the police report describes the events a certain way, does not mean that is how it happened. Find out if there were any witnesses to the accident, and what they have to say. You may also be able to bring a small claims action in a case like this.
