About me

Rodney W. Carter  is  a  shareholder in the law firm of Davis & Kuelthau, s.c.  He practices in the firm's Brookfield, Wisconsin, office.  The law firm of Davis & Kuelthau is composed of attorneys who have national experience, community ties and Wisconsin rates.   Clients of the firm range from individuals to mid-sized institutions to multi-billion dollar companies. 


Rod has significant experience with the legal issues surrounding businesses.  He has extensive experience in the areas of general business representation, labor and employment and real estate, as well as related litigation.   In addition, his firm has the legal expertise to take care of virtually every client need. This includes the practice areas traditionally associated with business and corporate counsel -- as well as those that reflect the changing needs and interests of our clients.


An active member of his community, Rod has served on a number of non-profit boards and community organizations.  He is currently a member of the Marquette Law School Law Alumni Board, Carthage College Alumni Board, Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of Healthy Families of Waukesha County and the City of Brookfield Board of Zoning Appeals.


Rod is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, the United States District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.


Rod received his Juris Doctor degree from Marquette University Law School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1990, where he was a member of the Law Review.  While in law school, Rod also completed an internship with Hon. John Coffey of the United States District Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. 


Rod received his Bachelor of Arts from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1990.  While attending Carthage, he participated in The American University's Washington Semester program in Washington, D.C.  While in Washington, he interned for United States Congressmen Gerald Kleczka and Jim Moody.


Rod is married to his best friend from law school, Eileen Miller Carter, who currently serves in the Wauwatosa City Attorney's Office.  He and Eileen have three children--two sons and a daughter.  Their family life is busy with activities related to the children.  Time allowing, the Carter family enjoys traveling and entertaining friends and family.  They are also avid Marquette fans.
