    BT was charged with DUI 3rd offense, a felony. BT was involved in a serious accident and was hospitalized. The police obtained a blood sample taken at the ER which showed presence of alcohol. Karl filed a motion and brief arguing the evidence should be suppressed. Based on the arguments made in Karl's brief, the prosecutor conceded and dismissed all charges.

    LS was charged with attempted murder after stabbing her husband several times. Immediately after the incident, LS was admitted to the psychiatric unit at the local hospital. Karl was able to obtain expert psychiatric opinions concerning LS's mental state at the time of the incident. At a pretrial hearing, Karl argued the evidence showed LS suffered from temporary insanity so could not be guilty of the crime. The Court granted Karl's motion and dismissed all charges. Since she had already successfully completed her treatment, Karl convinced the court that LS should not be committed to a psychiatric facility.

    JB was charged with multiple federal felonies for conspiracy to import drugs into the United States. Federal agents obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of JB's home. They seized JB's computer and conducted a forensic examination of its hard drive where they claim they found evidence of drug transactions. JB denied the charges and demanded a jury trial. At trial, the four alleged co-conspirators, who already plead guilty to the conspiracy, testified against JB. The Assistant United States Attorneys also brought in computer experts, drug experts, and several federal agents to testify against JB. Karl's cross examination during trial of the co-conspirators destroyed their credibility. Karl's computer expert refuted the claims made by the government's expert. After two days of deliberation, the jury returned a Not Guilty verdict.

Karl filed a motion to dismiss the charges based on the pending application. After hearing Karl's argument, the court dismissed the charges.

    JD was charged with Domestic Violence and had a Personal Protection Order issued against him, both arising out of an incident which took place during his divorce. After a full evidentiary hearing, the judge dismissed the PPO. Based on Karl's cross examination from the PPO hearing, the prosecutor dismissed the Domestic Violence charges the day before trial.
