It is difficult to answer this because there are not enough facts. Although a person is charged with a CSC they may have plead to a lesser offense that does not require reporting. These people that you are discussing may not be relating the facts of their case as accurately as possible. I hope that helps.
The friend is unable to drop the charges. It is the State of Michigan vs your boyfriend. The Kent County Prosecuter will not drop the charge. He needs an attorney. I am a criminal defense attorney in Grand Rapids. Please give me a call at 616 742 0667
The longer he stays away the worst it will be for him. It would be helpful to know who the Judge was. Some of the judges in Grand Rapids are more reasonable than others when it comes to probation violations. Get a local attorney who knows the lay of the land. Good luck. Feel free to call with further information.
Changing a plea is difficult at best, when it has been 7 months it is even harder, but not impossible. This will most certainly require a local criminal defense attorney. Feel free to call me at 616 742 0667.
More information may be required. Did you plead in District Court or Circuit Court? It may have been a high court misdemeanor that you pled to, which can be referred to as a felony. The matter may be handled in various ways. A motion to withdraw your plea may be appropriate or this may be expunged eventually. As I say, more info is required. I have attached a link to this answer if you would like to provide further information. Good luck.
