    Outcome:

  • Lost cause?

    Practice Area:
    Probate
    Date:
    Apr 11, 2007
    Outcome:
Settlement of $240k for the client
    Description:
Client called on a Thursday afternoon. She indicated that there was a hearing the following Monday and that opposing lawyer had told her to settle for $15k or she was going to lose the case and get nothing. That was when we got involved. We were able to not only set aside opposing counsel's Motion for Summary Judgment, but also to secure a settlement in excess of $240, for the client. This was in spite of opposing counsel's assertion that he had a "slam dunk" case and would crush us in court.
