Whatever the legal issues you face, when you come to our firm, we are with you all the way. We feel that we are in this together with our clients. Whether you are looking for help with a real estate transaction, collecting a debt, you need help with a divorce or custody dispute or you are embroiled in business litigation — we approach your situation and goals as if they were our very own.
We are a family-oriented, father and son, general practice law firm providing experienced, high-quality services and representation to individuals and businesses facing a wide range of legal issues. If you choose to work with us, either Sanford J. Melder or Aric K. Melder will be the attorney working with you at all times. There are no inexperienced associates to pass your case off to once we take your case. At our firm, what you see is what you get – you will get honest, up-front communication from genuine and no-nonsense attorneys. We pride ourselves on a straightforward approach to every case and make sure that you are kept informed about the progress of your case.
From start to finish, our relationship with you will be built on open communication. We believe and we know from experience that informed clients — those given clear answers to their questions and an understanding of the law, their legal options and what to expect at each stage of the process — are happier clients, more relaxed, more involved, and better able to help us do our jobs for you.
Sanford J. Melder opened the doors to this law office in 1974, and has been practicing in the local, state and federal courts of Michigan ever since. In 2004, he was joined in practice by son Aric. Our two lawyers have combined experience of nearly 50 years, having been practicing law in Oakland County, Detroit and surrounding areas of Southeast Michigan the entire time.
We do not take a back seat in terms of technology or expert witness resources either. As an established firm, we have access to and strong relationships with appropriate experts in all areas of our practice. Our technology tools include access to the standard legal databases used by most firms, as well as sophisticated software and multi-media courtroom presentation capabilities.

I endorse this lawyer. I will refer clients to both Aric Melder and Sanford Melder when I have clients or receive calls from potential clients with issues involving Divorce, Probate, Will/Trust, Guardianship/Conservatorship, Debt Collection and Traffic Citations. They also have an excellent trial practice and their litigation work is phenomenal.
