  • I am in need of a immigration/divorce lawyer so I can get a divorce from the American lady I am married to.

How much would it cost to get a lawyer for my divorce if I am on mexico? And I need an immigration lawyer to fix my papers or redo them. I would like to find a lawyer that practice's both.

    Cassandra’s Answer

I'm sure there are other firms out there like mine in that regard. Prices for both types of cases depend on what kind of services you need. It is sometimes very important to have both kind of attorneys rolled into one depending on different factors in your case.

  • What can I do to get our son here from the philippines

In short, my wife is a philippino american citizen who has a son in the philippine and he is not an american citizen. After many broken promises to bring him here, her mother is now refusing to unless we pay her an unspecified amount of money

    Cassandra’s Answer

Do I understand correctly that your mother in law ( the grandmother) of your wife's son, is refusing to help him immigrate to the US?

If so, my question would be , who has Custody of the child? If sounds to me that you need is a Custody attorney in the Philippines. And maybe one here too.

Also, what I think you are implying is that grandma is holding the grandson fr ransom/ extorting mom, in which case that may have criminal consequences for her.

  • How difficult to pass the Green Card interview? ?

My spouse and I have got all the required documents such as joint bank account, name on my apartment lease and utilities, and pics of our wedding. I was wondering what questions we"ll be asked and how the interview is.

    Cassandra’s Answer

Just for example they may ask you details about your home they may ask you about how you met how he proposed, your wedding what kind of ceremony it was , how many people were there , do you go to church , when was the last time you went to church together. There are questions you will know the answers to so long as you have a legitimate relationship and are living together. If for some reason your mind goes blank on something or you don't know the answer simply say so , do not guess!

You definitely want to get someone experienced with 601a waivers! Not all immigration attorneys are the same or specialize in the same areas. This past october, I obtained my husband's residency through the 601a waiver process, so I know firsthand the process does work! And wow, is it an awesome feeling when it does! Regarding your situation, I would have some concerns and many questions about your case, 1. you are not married yet, 2. do either of you have kids? 3. do you have medical conditions, and the list goes on. Contact a good waiver attorney who can help you through this, you do not want the wrong help, nor do you want to go this road alone. Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!!

My case was under review from October 22, 2012, until October 29, 2014. Yes! It took over to years for me to hear from the government!. I finally received a letter a couple months ago asking for more proof of my diploma validation. I sent USCIS cl...

    Cassandra’s Answer

That is horribly frustrating. I would go to a new lawyer with a copy of your old submission and your new GED. Any competent immigration attorney anywhere in the US (you don't have to pick someone in TX) should be able to get this approved. (Provided there isn't more to this story.) Good luck.

  • I need a CPA to prove my wife's sponsors self employed income. Any advice?

My brother is going to sponsor my wife as I'm currently living in Brazil with her and I can't sponsor her. However, late last year he opened his own construction business and now being self employed doesn't have check stubs to prove current income...

    Cassandra’s Answer

Did he file his taxes for last year? This is what I typically submit for my clients as proof of income. You can also use bank records to show deposits, savings and assets that might also help you to meet the minimum income requirement. I don't know why you would need a CPA. Worst case scenario, you can get a co-sponsor.
