Craig’s primary responsibilities include complex litigation and transactional work in the areas of business and e-business, technology, real estate, construction, land use and zoning. Craig is a skilled litigator whose candid and straightforward counsel has proved invaluable to his clients in complex litigation and appellate situations where document overload can happen to many. His business transactional work includes entity formation, drafting corporate documents, including annual minutes, amendments, statements of membership, stock legers and certificates, buy-sell agreements, corporate governance documents, merger and acquisition and business reorganization documents. Along with general business consulting Craig handles all of the firm’s e-business or e-commerce clients. Craig works with internet and technology based businesses to advise them on the ever changing and emerging legal issues in the technology world. His e-business transactional work includes drafting privacy policies, terms & conditions of use, linking, marketing, compliance, licensing, data, and software agreements. Craig’s real estate transactional work includes drafting and reviewing commercial and residential leases and purchase agreements, development agreements, mitigation agreements, homeowner’s association documents, drafting and submitting requests for variances, subcontractor workout documents, annexation and land use documents, and mortgages, liens and related releases.
Craig’s secondary responsibility for the firm is handling all day-to-day in-house Informational/Technology “IT” issues so that the firms computers, email, servers, and networks run smoothly and efficiently in order to meet the needs of its clients. In addition to all firm IT matters Craig also handles the firm’s website updates and ethics compliance for internet based advertising. Craig’s vast understanding for today’s technology enables him to venture into the many challenging and un-chartered waters of technology law.
Born and raised in Vermilion, Ohio, Craig graduated cum laude from Baldwin-Wallace College and received his Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Craig was the Executive Editor of the Journal of Law & Health and has studied the law abroad in Athens, Greece. Craig is a member of the Florida State, Ohio State and Akron Bar Associations and is a member of the Florida Bars out of state practitioner’s group. Craig is also the chairman of the New Lawyers committee as well as an ex-officio Board of Trustee member for the Akron Bar Association. Craig and his wife Marcie reside in Rootstown with their golden retriever, Brody. In his free time, Craig can be found boating and jet skiing with his wife on the Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie, playing golf, playing poker, or working on his large saltwater reef aquarium.
