I am a forty-three-year-old single father who has been fighting for more time with my ten-year-old daughter since her mother ran of...f with her in 2012. I have had three other attorneys over the past eight years. It was truly a blessing that I met with and hired Kathi. Kathi took the time to get familiar with my past and present court issues. I could tell that she was less concerned with time and money, and more concerned with taking her time to understand exactly what has happened in the past so she could defend and represent me aggressively and in an informed manner. She did such a good job of asking me deep background questions, that at one point I was nervous that she might have been padding the billable hours. When it came time to discuss how much of my retainer was left, I was shocked and pleasantly surprised at how fair she was in billing me. I think the opposing counsel was really bummed out having to deal with Kathi. She is extremely knowledgeable, tough, but fair. She is a good negotiator. In the end, I was awarded far more than I thought possible based on the past eight years of getting ran over by the court system and my daughter’s mother. I now have 50/50 legal decision making and I spend equal time with my daughter on a 5-2-2-5 schedule. My ex fought us right up to the bitter end but ended up settling the case the night before our trial date. There is NO WAY my ex would have settled if I didn’t have Kathi, so she even saved me the expense and stress of testifying on the trial date. I am eternally grateful that God gave me Kathi. Ms Felton was always by my side helping me and explaining everything. I had an extremely uncooperative ex to deal with and she was able to get things done without sinking to his level. He wouldn't sign papers but she navigated a way which made it impossible for him not to sign. We are still dealing ...with him on another issue but she never compromises her ethics and soon this too will be resolved without any dirty play that some lawyers sink to.
