You indicated that you didn't sign the "original" contract. Did you sign a subsequent contract? Is the current contract in your name? Did the salesperson come door-to-door to sell you the service? These are all questions that will need to be answered before a proper response can be given.

If that is what you meant, there is no right to rescind the contract (return the call and cancel the transaction) unless permitted under the Florida Consumer Protection laws or specifically permitted in the contract.
The first question is whether you have any type of employment contract or employment manual that may dictate what is to occur in such a situation. If you do not, and you live in a state that has "employment at will," then yes, unfortunately, your employer can lower your pay and/or lay you off.
It may not be fair, but it is legal. Unless you could prove that your employer pays you less based on your gender, age, ethnicity, or some other "protected class," I do not believe you have any recourse.
