Matthew
Crumpton is the managing partner of Crumpton Law LLC. Matt is an
attorney focused on defending, serving, and advising businesses and
individuals throughout Ohio. In addition to his law practice, he is
known for his diverse interests and participation in the Columbus
community. He is an owner of two restaurants, a musician and songwriter,
an author of two books, a director for the Independents' Day Festival,
and founder of Music Loves Ohio, a non-profit youth music charity.


 


Crumpton has been named as a Person To Watch by Columbus Alive, Power Suit by 614 Magazine, and Forty Under 40 by Columbus Business First.


 


After graduating from Ohio University, he attended Capital University Law School, where he was the business editor of the Capital University Law Review.
During law school, Matt clerked at the Missouri Attorney General's
Office and at the Ohio House of Representatives. Matt graduated law
school in the top two percent of his class.


 


Prior to opening Crumpton Law LLC, Matt was an attorney at the prestigious Columbus firm, Porter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP,
practicing in the litigation and intellectual property departments.
While at Porter Wright, Matt obtained successful outcomes in a number of
cases, including before the Ohio Supreme Court in State ex rel. Stokes v. Brunner, 120 Ohio St.3d 250 (2008).


 


Matt is an owner of two restaurants, D.P. Dough and Union Street Diner, both located in Athens, Ohio.


 


Crumpton
has worked in the music industry as a backstage production assistant
for ClearChannel Entertainment (now Live Nation), an independent concert
promoter, a band manager, and a record producer. He is also a musician
who has recorded and released two albums. Most recently, Matt has been
active as a member of The Winnie Cooper Project, who were recently voted
as the Second Best Cover Band in Columbus by readers of 614 Magazine.


 


Matt is the president and founder of Music Loves Ohio , a non-profit organization providing after school music programming to
underserved Ohio youth. He also serves on the board of directors for
the Independents' Day Festival. Additionally, Crumpton has served as pro bono counsel for Wonderland Columbus and the Columbus Music Co-op.
