You have a great case, don't screw it up by handling it yourself, hire a personal injury attorney in your state immediately. As to a settlement value, no way for me to guess and depends on so many factors that I would never second guess a competent personal injury attorney in your local area to make that call. Please hire a local personal injury attorney!!!!

It differs from state to state, court to court, and judge to judge, but generally speaking you get one pretrial to work out a plea, and depending on your state/court/judge you may not be able to enter anything after that but an open plea or face the jury. If you at all can come up with the money, I strongly suggest to hire private attorney now if you are already conserned about your PD. Best of Luck

Generally, you have the right to speak to an attorney after the booking process. The USSC has said that you have the right to an attorney at every critical stage, and the booking process is procedural and not critical, so anything after that seems to be the trigger. The most recent case law from the USSC say that even silence can now be used against you prior to being read your rights. Miranda rights are slowly being erroded into nothing. The FST are not admissable in court, at least at the...

I advise my clients based on several factors such as how likely it is that we can beat the charge. However, in court the fines and/or jail time varies and sometimes the DA makes a plea deal that is not worth risking a full penalty. For your particular charge, I would fight it if it was a 1st offense, as you have many defenses. If the ex DA is now a criminal defense attorney and he is the one you had the consultation with and are now considering hiring, then he fully understand the...

The case can not be settled without your signing the settlement documents, so you still have options. Fire that lawyer and hire a new one.

You can recover damages for pain and suffering, ect. There is no crystal ball to tell you what amount of damages "money" you can recover. You need to set up an appointment with me or another personal injury attorney to fully evaluate you claim. You simply did not give enough information here for me to give you any idea of how I would evaluate you claim. One thing you can be sure about is the insurance company is going to pay you the minimum and a good personal injury attorney will get you the...
