License wad revoked for dui 2
The short answer is, it depends. If the person is driving on a revoked license because their driving privileges are revoked because of a DUI, then yes their car can be seized (and possible forfeited). If the person's driving privileges are revoked because of DUI, but the are eligible for reinstatement at the time of driving then it is unlikely the state would prevail in a forfeiture proceeding. As a footnote, Tennessee law allows for a restricted license for any DUI in Tennessee (subject to the trial judge's decision), therefore, driving on revoked after a DUI is a needless violation.
Driving on a revoked license due to an administrative revocation (not paying child support, unpaid tickets, etc.) is not grounds to seize or forfeit a vehicle.See question
