Brittany Adkins Schaffer

  Brittany’s practice includes a diverse range of music entertainment transactions and broad-based litigation with particular emphasis on copyright, right of publicity and entertainment matters..  Her unique blend of transactional and litigation skills gives her a broad knowledge of the music industry, makes her highly effective in negotiations, and enables her to service clients and the industry at large in a variety of capacities. Brittany has worked with some of the most recognizable names in the music industry, along with other established and rising recording artists, songwriters, producers, record labels, publishing companies, video production and live stage production companies, management companies, authors, digital companies, and other parties in the music industry.  Brittany handles everything from drafting and negotiating recording, songwriting, and producer agreements to setting up touring corporations, negotiating sponsorship & endorsement deals, evaluating complex copyright matters, and providing advice and counsel on artist and brand development and protection.  Her work in music also extends to significant involvement in developing music strategies and leading licensing efforts for popular websites, digital startups, large corporations, sports networks, advertising agencies, and even a television network.

    Her vast experience in the music industry gave rise to her participation in the U.S. Copyright Office Roundtable on Music Licensing Reform held in Nashville .  As one of the youngest and only female panelists during a two day period, Brittany worked with the National Music Publishers Association and petitioned for music licensing reform on behalf of music publishers and songwriters and held her own against Washington, D.C. veterans lobbying for the interests of digital companies, broadcasters, and record labels.
