Christopher is a good kid that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His buddy picked him up to go to Chili's to get a bite to eat. He didn't tell Chris that he was supposed to make a drug deal ( ... with an undercover cop) before they went in the restraunt. Chris got busted simply because he was in the car and looked nervous. State attorney couldn't see the forest for the trees and prosecuted instead of dropping the charges. Oh well, his bad.

OUTCOME: Writ of Habeas Corpus Granted

This was a writ of Habeas Corpus for a juvenile who been unlawfully ordered to comply with certain restrictive conditions of release pending trial. The juvenile had not been arrested and had appeared ... as ordered. These conditions of release were being ordered on all juveniles in the circuit, regardless of whetehr they had been arrested or just given a notice to appear. The Writ of Habeas Corpus was filed challenging the legality of these release requirements, which were just short of home detention. The Court of appeals agreed that the court had no authority to order such restrictions and vacated the judge's order. This caused a substantial change in the way the 9th Circuit treated juveniles, as well as in other circuits around the state.

Mr. D was charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, aggravated batter, and 2 counts of battery. He was convicted only of simple battery in count 1.

He was charged with Aggravated Battery on a LEO, Resisting with violence, DWLS w/injury, Felony DWLS, Leaving the Scene of an accident w/injuries, RWOV, criminal mischief, and possession of >20gms of m ... arijuana. He was found not guilty of everything except the RWOV, and simple DWLS.
