Divorce

During my divorce, Jean allowed the judge to give half my retirement to my ex while allowing him to keep his for his salary. I did not realize his retirement was a marital asset and was not advised of this by Jean. She also kept telling me my ex would never get that half of my retirement. I belie...ved her since she was an attorney, but she was wrong. He did get it easily. When ask about telling me this for months, she would not respond. There were details about my ex that would have cast him in a bad light, but Jean refused to use them. In most court appearances, Jean sat silent while the opposing attorney told the judge false information. Jean would not respond even if I wrote her a note saying the facts were wrong. I did not do well in financial arbitration either. My ex's attorney out did her at every turn. Jean agreed to side deals with my ex's attorney without my approval. She would tell me it meant this, but in the end, it did not. I spent a fortune on my divorce. Overall, I lost my entire inheritance and most of the marital assets due to wrong advise or the lack of advise all together. Jean seemed too busy and to have too many clients to really take care of you. I lost what I had worked most of my life for and I will never be able to make up this loss. The woman my husband had the affair with and subsequently married, is living on easy street. I will have to work forever. The consequences of Jean's actions or the lack there of bit me at every turn. Nice person, but do not bet the rest of your life on her.

Experience doesn't mean Quality

When I asked her to seek back child support, she said she would. Then once in trial she refused. This was a substantial amount of money. When she wrote the final divorce dissolution she failed to insert details about cost above Child Support, such as counseling for the children. THis has cost me ...a great deal of time and money to try and rectify; mostly to no avail. Post divorce issues are very difficult to work out; choose a lawyer that is willing to represent you the way you deserve to be represented.
