When trying to receive monetary damages from a car accident, will the victim's personal life be investigated?

Yes. His medical history, work history, past work comp claims history and his personal life will be investigated. Even with past shoulder issues his claim would not be precluded. His claim would be for aggravation of a pre existing condition. He should call my office to discuss.
